Business North Carolina recently published its annual list of the 2018 "Legal Elite" and our founder, Laura Edgerton, was chosen as the Legal Elite category winner for Immigration. The complete list of category winners was included in Business North Carolina's January 2018 edition. Although Business North Carolina has published the Legal Elite lists since 2002, two new fields were added to the Legal Elite categories for 2018: Appellate and Immigration. Therefore, Ms. Edgerton is the first to win in the Legal Elite category for Immigration.

Since 2002, Business North Carolina has asked members of the North Carolina State Bar to select peers they believe are reputable in their respective field. Fewer than 3% of attorneys in the state were chosen for inclusion in Business North Carolina's Legal Elite.
