On August 19, 2024, the Department of Homeland Security has “announced a Federal Register notice to implement Keeping Families Together, a process for certain noncitizen spouses and stepchildren of U.S. citizens” that would allow for families to stay together in the U.S. while applying for parole in place that would eventually permit them to apply for lawful permanent residence.
USCIS has begun accepting applications as of August 19, 2024. Form I-131F, Application for Parole in Place for Certain Noncitizen Spouses and Stepchildren of U.S. Citizens, can only be filed online with a filing fee of $580.
