U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is expected to soon announce the registration window for the (FY) 2024 H-1B cap season. The registration period is expected to take place in March.

As before, if more applicants register than there are H-1B visas available, USCIS will conduct a randomized lottery to select enough beneficiaries to meet the annual cap. Selected applicants are expected to be able to begin filing their H-1B petitions starting on April 1, 2023.

Employers are encouraged to identify any employees or applicants who may require sponsorship this year and contact their immigration professional if assistance with the registration process is needed. Anyone who has not previously been counted toward the H-1B cap in prior years is likely to require an entry in the H-1B lottery.
