H-1B Cap-Subject Premium Processing to begin April 27th

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced that it will begin premium processing cap-subject H-1B petitions on April 27, 2015. USCIS had previously announced that premium processing service procedures would be temporarily adjusted due to the high levels of premium processing cases received during the initial filing window for H-1B cap cases and the likelihood that the H-1B cap would be met in the first 5 business days of the filing season that began on April 1, 2015.

Normally, premium processing service is available for certain employment-based petitions and guarantees a 15 calendar day processing time.

For those petitioners submitting H-1B petitions that are not subject to the cap, the 15 day processing period begins on the day U.S. CIS receives the request. For cap-subject H-1B petitions, the 15 day processing period will begin on April 27, 2015 – regardless of the date of actual receipt of the petition by US CIS.
