USCIS recently announced that in order to balance workloads, it has transferred a portion of cases filed at the Vermont Service Center to other service centers. According to uscis.gov, "If your case was transferred, USCIS will send you a notice listing the transfer date and where your case will be processed." USCIS also indicates that the original receipt number assigned to the transferred case will not change.
