US CIS Reaches FY2016 H-1B Cap

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (US CIS) announced on April 7, 2015, that it had received enough petitions to meet the FY2016 H-1B statutory cap (65,000) and the U.S. advanced degree exemption (20,000).

Before completing the random selection process ("lottery"), US CIS will complete its initial intake of the petitions received. At present, US CIS has not announced the date it will begin the random selection process.

US CIS will conduct the selection process for the advanced degree exemption first. All advanced degree petitions not selected will become part of the random selection process for the 65,000 limit.
