New Advance Parole and Employment Authorization Document Policy

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has begun issuing Advance Parole endorsements as part of the Employment Authorization Document when form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization and form I-131, Application for Travel Document, are filed concurrently.

Traditionally, two separate documents have been issued from USCIS, an Employment Authorization Document, and an Authorization for Parole of an Alien into the United States. USCIS has determined it to be more cost-effective for the government, in addition to being more convenient for applicants, to adjudicate forms I-763 and I-131 simultaneously. If USCIS approves both applications, form I-766, Advance Parole EAD, will be issued. For further information on this ruling, visit USCIS.
