As of August 13, 2010, an additional fee has been added to certain H-1B, L-1A and L-1B petitions.

This fee applies to petitioners that employ 50 or more employees in the United States when more than 50 percent of their employees are working under H-1B, L-1A or L-1B nonimmigrant status. For H-1B petitions, the additional fee is $2,000. For L-1 petitions, it is $2,250. This is in addition to the base processing fee, Fraud Prevention and Detection Fee, American Competitiveness and Workforce Improvement Act of 1998 fees, and any premium processing fees.
