The Department of State (DOS) can now begin processing visa applications for beneficiaries of approved H-1Bs with a 10/1/14 start date. Based on the authority under 9 FAM 41.53 N8.4(b), U.S. Consular posts have authority to issue visas up to 90 days in advance of the employment start date for H-1Bs. Once the visa is approved, applicants may apply for admission to the U.S. beginning 10 days prior to the first day of their approved status period.
